The first annual 2010 Chicago Blog Awards will take place on Friday, November 12, 2010 here in Chicago, IL. A location is yet to be announced but the Chicago Theatre or similar venue will be among the top choices based on availability.

A Meetup.com Group has been formed to garner public support and make the planning process for 2010 Chicago Blog Awards transparent and open to regular citizens.

Unlike other major gala awards events, 2010 Chicago Blog Awards will allow everyday people to participate and influence the decisions regarding how the event unfolds and takes place. Typically, an invisible committee and mysterious jury panel oversees such events and the public is largely avoided and prohibited from being involved. Not this time and not this event.

If you are interested you can join the 2010 Chicago Blog Awards Meetup Group. There is no charge or fee involved and meetings are held on weekends in a downtown location convenient to public transportation. The next meeting is already schedule.
